Truck Plow Accessories
The following snowplow accessories are suited for truck plows. They'll help with everything from protecting your vehicle from damage to adding a bit more performance to your plow.
Ballast Retainer
A snowplow adds a bit of weight to the front of your truck, and it's often necessary to add ballast in the bed to keep the axle weight in check. Ballast retainers ensure whatever ballast you use stays in place rather than sliding around.
Curb Guards
Curb guards simply wrap around the edge of the plow base angle to defend against damage from the curb. Some plows come with curb guards, but it's never a bad idea to add aftermarket guards if they don't come standard on your model.
Front Bumper Replacement
Sometimes the front bumper can get in the way of installing a snowplow on a truck. While this usually means cutting out some of the factory bumper, BOSS offers front bumper replacements for select models of Chevy trucks. These custom, pre-cut bumpers offer a factory finish look and greatly decrease the amount of cutting needed for the original bumpers.
Plow Guides
These thin pieces of tubing are attached to the upper end of the snowplow and extend above the hood of your truck so you can see where the ends of the plow are from inside the cab. Plow guides are great for getting used a new plow or just to make sure you don't accidentally hit anything with it.
Sight System
An exclusive BOSS snowplow product, the sight system makes aligning and attaching your plow easier and faster than ever. The system uses a sight pin attached to the hood of your truck and a decal placed on the plow headlight. All you have to do to align your truck and plow is line up the pin to the decal!
Wings
Have you found your snowplow to be a bit too narrow? Wings can help there. They add additional width by adding removable blade wing extensions, which are easy to take off or on to suit your plowing needs. Add even more performance to your plow with some wings!
For Either Trucks or UTVs
These accessories are made for both trucks and UTVs and usually vary only in size between specific models.
Cutting Edge
BOSS has several options for replacing the cutting edge on your Truck or UTV snowplow, including optional poly cutting edges made out of a durable polyurethane material (available for the straight and VXT plows). BOSS offers Hardox® wear resistant steel for their truck plows, which have double the life of lesser steel or urethane models.
Snow Deflector
Deflectors attach to the top edge of your snowplow to increase visibility. They reduce the amount of snow that can fly over the plow and onto your windshield (or in your face on a UTV!). They can be made out of either rubber or polyurethane.
Snowplow Shoes
Plow shoes attach to the bottom of the snowplow blade and help to raise the blade slightly. This can prevent bulldozing on surfaces like gravel, dirt, and grass. They aren't suitable or necessary for paved areas.
Dolly Wheels
These removable wheels for the bottom of your snowplow are best used in the off-season storage. They allow the plow to be easily relocated or otherwise repositions without attaching it to a vehicle.
Headlights
A truck has headlights already, but your UTV might not. Snow doesn't always land when the sun is out, and you might need some additional illumination to take care of business. Add extra lights with a BOSS headlight kit, available for both straight and VXT UTV plows.
Tailgate & Hopper Spread Accessories
A BOSS spreader vibrator kit can help when working with material that has excess moisture. Moisture in materials like salt or sand causes it to bridge or freeze in the spreader and pack together, clogging up the mechanism. A vibrator kit prevents this buildup with up to 200lbs of vibrating force!
